Maxime Cohen

Maxime Cohen is the Scale AI Chair Professor of Retail and Operations Management and Director of Research at McGill University. He is also a Visiting Professor of Operations Management and a Shubik Fellow at Yale School of Management (2023-2024). He is the Chief AI Officer of ELNA Medical and the Scientific Director of the non-profit MyOpenCourt.org. He is also a Scientific Advisor in AI at IVADO Labs, and he is actively advising corporations, retailers, and startups on topics related to pricing, retail, and data science. He has worked on retail, ride-sharing, airline, sustainability, cloud computing, online advertising, peer-to-peer lending, real estate, healthcare, and conflict analytics. He has collaborated with many companies including Google, Waze, Oracle Retail, IBM Research, Via (ride-sharing), Spotify, Aldo Group, Couche-Tard/Circle K, L'Oréal, Cargo, and Staples and he serves on the advisory board of several startups. His research and teaching have received 30+ awards, including Poets&Quants Best 40-Under-40 MBA Professors, RETHINK Retail’s Top Retail Influencers, MSOM Young Scholar Prize, and Best OM Paper in Management Science.

Miriam Carver

As a faculty member of the McGill Executive Institute and lecturer in the Desautels Faculty of Management, Miriam Carver’s areas of expertise include leadership development, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, building teams, customer service, executive coaching, and emotional intelligence. She consults with a wide variety of organizations in diverse sectors, from manufacturing and telecommunications to government and healthcare. She holds a Master’s in Education (Counselling Psychology) from McGill University and has completed additional graduate work in Organizational Development and Conflict Resolution.

Steve Fortin

Steve Fortin, is an Associate Professor of Accounting and the KPMG Professor of Accounting at the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo. He served as Director of the School from 2018 to 2022. A graduate of the University of Waterloo (PhD - 2000) and the Université du Québec à Rimouski (BBA Accounting - 1992), his research is published in multiple academic and practitioner journals, including the prestigious Journal of Accounting and Economics, Contemporary Accounting Research and Review of Accounting Studies. Prior to joining Waterloo, Fortin was a faculty member at McGill University for 19 years, serving terms as Associate Dean Undergraduate Programs, Academic Director of the MBA and Associate Dean Masters programs. An accomplished teacher and academic administrator, he taught in multiple programs at Waterloo, McGill and in industry, from undergraduate to PhD, in degree programs and executive courses. Fortin has received multiple awards over his career for academic excellence, teaching excellence and for his service. He is an FCPA, FCA in both Québec and Ontario and also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Father of two, he lives in the Waterloo region.

Louis Gialloreto MBA, LLM, MRAeS, CM is the Executive Director of McGill Executive Education and has 20+ years corporate managerial and executive experience in the airline, financial services, retail and wholesale distribution sectors. He also has 30+ years of experience as a Professor of Marketing @ McGill and other North American and international universities in addition to having consulted to or taught executives from over 250 different organizations worldwide and published over 50 articles in addition to a book on Airline Management. Louis governance experience includes positions on corporate advisory Boards plus having served on several public sector Boards including as Chair, Treasurer, and lead on the strategy.

Brooke Struck

Brooke Struck is the Founder and CEO of Converge, which offers strategy consulting services to forward-looking organizations, helping client teams to align on solutions to their most pressing problems. In all facets of his work, Brooke brings together a rich interdisciplinary background, strong relationship-building, and an unwavering focus on positive impact.

Previous to founding Converge, Dr. Struck was the Research Director at The Decision Lab, spearheading their behavioural insights consulting practice. He was an internationally recognized voice in applied behavioural science, representing TDL’s work in outlets such as Forbes, Vox, Huffington Post, and Bloomberg, as well as Canadian venues such as the Globe and Mail, CBC, and Global Media. Dr. Struck also hosted TDL’s podcast “The Decision Corner.” He has also advised clients such as the European Commission, the US National Science Foundation, and the Government of Canada. He holds a PhD in the philosophy of science.
