Alex Boussetta

Alex Boussetta consults with a wide variety of organizations on process improvement, implementing Agile development practices, managing turnarounds and continuous improvement deployments., Alex is a seasoned practitioner with roles as Manager of the Six Sigma Competency Center at Bombardier Aerospace, Corporate Director of Lean at MAAX, and Director, Global Supply Chain and Devices Quality at Blackberry. Alex holds a Masters in Engineering Project Management. He has been teaching Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma at McGill University since 2003. 

He also hold a VIP award for his project management and design work at General Electric, a Five Star Award from BlackBerry for product and services breakthroughs, and McGill Dean’s Service Award for Outstanding Contribution.

John-Paul Ferguson

John-Paul Ferguson is an accomplished keynote speaker and executive educator as well as an award-winning business school professor. He is currently the Academic Director of the MBA program at McGill University. Formerly a professor at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, John-Paul holds a Ph.D. from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. For more than a decade, John-Paul has studied trends in organizational diversification, careers, employment, and strategy. He has published widely on these topics in leading academic outlets. His work on the changing nature of employment composition in the USA has been cited in the New York Times and viewed more than a million times on YouTube. In 2015 he received the Labor and Employment Relations Association’s John T. Dunlop Prize for outstanding research contributions in work and employment research from an early-career professor. Drawing on his research and teaching experience, John-Paul has delivered keynote presentations, executive training programs, and consulting services to organizations in North America and Sub-Saharan Africa. His clients have ranged from small firms to multinationals like General Motors and included healthcare and government organizations as well as for-profit companies. He was a pioneer instructor in Stanford’s Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies, where he taught strategy and organization design to dozens of business owners from 23 countries. He teaches in the MBA, Ph.D., and undergraduate programs at McGill. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Stanford GSB in 2015.

Robert Nason

Dr. Robert Nason is a William Dawson Scholar and associate professor of Strategy and Organization at the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University. Robert’s research has focused on the role of entrepreneurship in society covering areas of family business, behavioral strategy, growth, and the informal economy.

In executive education, he develops and delivers programs for corporate clients around the globe covering themes such as strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and design thinking.

He is the recipient of multiple awards including 2022 Poets and Quants Best 40 Under 40 MBA Professors, 2022 Desautels Core Strategy MBA Teaching Award, and the 2016 Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award in the Strategic Research Cluster. His work has been published in leading academic outlets such as Academy of Management Review and Strategic Management Journal. Robert previously served as an Editor for Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Management and Journal of Business Venturing. He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Syracuse University and an MBA from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business.

Mary Dellar

Mary Dellar is a senior marketing professional and teaches at the Desautels Faculty of Management and the McGill Executive Institute. She has led courses on Integrated Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Service Excellence, Branding, and Global Marketing Management. Formerly, she has been a subject matter expert (marketing) for McGraw-Hill Education and was Managing Director at National Capital Markets where she developed communication infrastructures, media relations activities and marketing communication plans. She started her career in Sponsorship Management for teams in Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League. Mary holds an MBA (High Tech) from University of Ottawa.

David Schumacher

David Schumacher is an Associate Professor in the Finance Area at the Desautels Faculty of Management. His research is primarily concerned with themes in global investment management, including the portfolio choice and performance of international institutional investors, the financial market implications of the rise of large asset management firms as well as the overall industrial organization of the global investment management industry. His research has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Finance, The Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and covered by leading media outlets including The Economist. David’s teaching is focussed on classes in Mergers & Corporate Reorganizations and prior to joining Desautels, he obtained a PhD in Finance from INSEAD.
