Overview

A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is a trained improvement agent who demonstrates change management skills, project management skills, team leadership, and understands team dynamics. Certified Black Belts implement breakthrough improvements.

This hands-on training program will allow you to apply Six Sigma Black Belt principles in real-time, as you work through a project from definiton to implementation. In addition to the 9.5 days of training, the program includes 12 hours of coaching on your individual project.

This training and certification program is an excellent next step for individuals who have completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training.

Objectives

Upon completion of the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Online program, you will be able to:

  • Lead complex and multifunctional process improvement or process design projects
  • Manage projects using a roadmap that encompasses change management
  • Identify and optimize the key factors that are linked to the customers needs in a process or product
  • Analyze data and information to demonstrate and prove the way forward
  • Achieve successful breakthroughs in environments where resistance is a challenge

This program is designed for managers, directors, project managers, business analysts, process engineers, consultants, manufacturing engineers, warehouse, distribution, and logistics specialists. Many companies in the services and manufacturing sectors recognize the competitive advantage of employees with a process improvement set of skills and mindset. These companies include Lean Six Sigma requirements in their senior and management job descriptions and related postings.

Pre-requisites:

The registration fee includes facilitation by our highly rated faculty members, a comprehensive digital workbook and results oriented exercises. In addition, you will also be provided with 12 hours of coaching during the project phase, Lean Six Sigma Companion templates from the Abacus Team, and access to Minitab for the duration of the course.

After completing the training and all certification requirements, participants will obtain a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate awarded by McGill University and the Council for Six Sigma Certification, and signed by a Certified Master Black Belt. To successfully complete the course and receive your certificate of completion, you will need to attend all sessions and complete the pre-work for each session.

Alex Boussetta provides consulting services to a diverse range of organizations, focusing on process improvement, Agile development practices, turnaround management, and continuous improvement initiatives. With extensive experience, Alex has held key roles such as Manager of the Six Sigma Competency Center at Bombardier Aerospace, Corporate Director of Lean at MAAX, and Director of Global Supply Chain and Devices Quality at BlackBerry. He holds a Master's degree in Engineering Project Management and has been an instructor of Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma at McGill University since 2003. He has certified more than 1700 Green Belts, 290 Black Belts, and 24 Master Black Belts.

Alex has received several accolades, including a VIP award for project management and design work at General Electric, a Five Star Award from BlackBerry for product and service breakthroughs, and the McGill Dean’s Service Award for Outstanding Contribution. His book, "Achieving Excellence," published in 2024, became a best seller in the business category on Amazon.

Madalena Valiante is a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma with a background in Industrial Engineering. Since 2018, she has honed her expertise in continuous improvement across various industries, including aerospace, medical devices, and manufacturing. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with all levels of organizations, leveraging her skills in influence and change management to drive transformative projects. At Laurentide Controls she successfully implemented quality management and business process management systems, establishing a strong foundation for operational excellence.

Currently, she leads the Operational Excellence team as Manager, focusing on optimizing processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality. Her transformational role includes leading intelligent automation of business practices.
